3 Steps to Properly Handle CNC Machine Emergency Shutdown

emergency stop.jpg

In the face of emergency prolonged downtime, how to maintain our machine tools, in order to more quickly return to normal production operations?

Need to do the following:

1. machine cleanup

The machine table, X, Y, Z-axis shroud on the chip and chip liquid cleanup.

Clean up the chips in the tool magazine, the chips on the knife handle and the chips and oil on the knife claw.

Clean the Chips and Chip Fluids in the taper hole of the spindle, can not install the knife handle on the spindle.

Long-term shutdown to be three-axis shroud chips and screw, guide shaft on the chips and oil cleaned up.

Machine downtime needs to move the three-axis and four-axis to the center position.

2. lubrication and rust

Lubricate the tool magazine transmission parts, coated with grease, grease: ensure that the grease is of good quality.

Lubricate the arbor of spindle loosening knife mechanism with grease. Grease: Make sure the grease is of good quality.

Carry out anti-rust treatment for table, three-axis guard, wipe dry and apply anti-rust paste.

Apply lubricating grease to spindle taper hole, make sure the grease is of good quality.

3. Precautions before recovery

a. Inspection matters

Cleaning rust preventive oil Clean rust preventive oil from all parts of the machine according to the guidelines for inspection and maintenance before a long shutdown, using a damp cloth and cleaning agent.

Supply of coolant Fill the coolant according to the requirements for coolant use.

General inspection Cooling system, clamping system, lubrication system, electrical system, etc.

Check for oil leakage Check for oil leakage inside the machine and hoses.

Preheating of machine tool After turning on the machine, run the three axes, spindle and tool magazine empty at 25% for 30 minutes to check whether each part is normal.

b. spindle preheating Before running the machine again after a long period of downtime without use, the machine must be run empty according to the following steps:

Fix the spindle speed at a safe speed of 1000 rpm;

Rotate the spindle at 500 rpm for about half an hour;

Rotate the spindle at 1000 rpm for approximately half an hour;

Stop the spindle rotation and warm up each axis (X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis).

c. Special Precautions

After a long period of downtime, the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis must be idle for about half an hour before running again;

If the machine is not used for a long time, if the spindle speed is too high, it may cause damage to the spindle bearing or chuck hydraulic cylinder.
