As we all know the CNC spindle motor is the key component in one CNC machine. You have to accumulate experience, and then you can use it smoothly. No matter air cooled spindle (air cooling spindle) or  water cooled spindle (water cooling spindle), the troubleshooting tips can make sure you can understand your spindle well. 

1. Abnormally hot when the CNC spindle runs. When you meet this situation, you need to check the water cooling system or the electric fan if they work normally.

2. If the CNC spindle motor is noisy also cannot be rotated by hand, maybe you need to change a bearing. Or you can check sensor digital is correct or not.

3. Notice the current,  if the current is higher than the normal valve, it is showing the cutting tool is stuck or the feed speed is too fast.

4. The CNC spindle stops working after starting the machine for a few seconds. Maybe the start-up time is too short, try to increase the working time of the CNC spindle without tooling. Check connections at the CNC spindle, VFD, and any connectors. Send CNC spindle motor to PDS for motor diagnostics and repair.

5. It cannot hold the tool holder tightly.

Check the pull studs if it is suitable for your CNC spindle motor.

6. The CNC  spindle Break tool forks On Tool magazine

Check machine offsets for each axis. Also, check the time of change.

7. Also, the current protections may lead to the CNC spindle motor not work, too. Please check the corresponding current.

8. If the spindle is noisy or vibration, that shows you need to change the bearing, or even worse, you need to change a new CNC spindle. Unbalanced collet nuts or broken tooling can induce the CNC spindle to vibrate, you need to check the collet and tooling.
