This is called disc spring, manufactured by Mubea, Germany. Belleville disc springs, also known as conical washers, have a curved shape that creates a spring-like action. They are used in applications that require heavy loads, such as machine tools, valves, wind turbines, slip clutches, piston return springs, overload clutches, and spring actuated brakes.

This type of disc spring stack installed in the machine spindle used to provide the clamping force that holds the cutting tool.
